Vivitek Novotouch EK653i 65

Review summary:

The Vivitek Novotouch EK653i 65″ 4K Interactive Touchscreen combines a 4K UHD resolution with IPS-ADS technology, offering increased brightness without compromising black levels like regular IPS displays do. The result is a bright, colourful and interactive touchscreen that’s a pleasure to use. An anti-glare coating and self-contained software (no need to hook it up to a PC to use) complete the package.

Introduction

The Vivitek Novotouch EK653i is an exceptional interactive touchscreen that harnesses Android 8.0 (Oreo) for its OS and Google G-suite for cloud documents. It has remote manager functionality and AES-256 encryption with password protection, making it one of the best interactive touchscreens for corporate use.

Usability and features

The Vivitek Novotouch EK653i has a 65-inch 4K-UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution LED display with a 4000:1 contrast ratio and 16:9 aspect ratio. The 500 cd/m² brightness is one of the best, thanks to IPS-ADS technology that brightens the screen without losing contrast.

The Multi-Core High-Performance ARM CPU is a high-end CPU and it’s paired to 3GB of RAM. This setup runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) seamlessly with very little lag, with Vivitek’s menu and navigation system designed for productivity.

For collaboration, it offers Screen mirroring (NovoConnect), screen duplication over the corporate network (NT LiveScreen/ NT LiveReceiver) and Video Conferencing, with over 50 apps built-in, with the NT App Store offering more. One of these apps is Google G-suite, so if you use G-Suite, the Novotouch EK653i is a great choice.

It’s fantastic to use, with infrared touchscreen technology, a 178° viewing angle, a 60Hz refresh rate and a rapid ARM Cortex A73 Dual Core CPU. You can use it collaborate, record sessions, annotate, review, edit and publish content.

Overall

With most interactive touchscreens at this price range (over £1,200 excluding VAT) offering incredible image quality, the standout feature of the Novotouch EK653i is its seamless connectivity to Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, and its app compatibility, supporting Google G-Suite which many organisations use. Overall, it’s one of the best displays on the market. We have no qualms recommending it.
